During a trip on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon we stopped at mile 157 which is the confluence with Havasu Creek - a body of water known for its blue water. I was very excited. The captain had to park the raft against a cliff while in the middle of Havasu Rapid - it was quite a display of boatwomanship.
We walked up creek - often in the creek. For this photograph I was standing in 3 feet of cool water. Using a tripod to steady the camera for a 1/7 second photograph of the small falls. I also used a polarizer and and ND filter to let in less light. It was a very bright day - to lower the light coming in so I could slow the speed I needed extra help with the neutral density filter.
The blue water and the red rock contrast nicely.
